Chapter 9
“You shameless bastards! So that’s why you want a divorce out of nowhere–you’ve been seeing someone else behind my back. Look at you, acting all heartbroken. You’ve been betraying me for a long time, haven’t you? Have you no shame?”
Eanes was like a madman, pressing me relentlessly.
I ignored him and kept wiping the wine off Shawn.
My action must have pushed Eanes over the edge. In the next second, he lunged at Shawn, ready to throw a punch.
I reacted quickly, stepping in between them.
But suddenly, a sharp sting spread across my cheek.
Eanes froze, staring at his hand in shock.
“Have you lost your mind, Eanes? Don’t judge others with your filthy mind. Not everyone is as disgusting as you. You’re a married man, and you dared to publicly announce your relationship with someone else on social media. And you can’t take it when I’m just having dinner with a friend?
“Besides, let’s not pretend you don’t know who the ‘shameless bastards‘ are.”
I shot him a meaningful look.
His face turned beet red, his anger barely contained. “You”
“By the way, I’ve already filed a divorce lawsuit. Whether you like it or not, this marriage is over. You don’t get a say.”
With that, I took Shawn’s hand and walked away without looking back. Despite Eanes screaming like a banshee behind me, I treated his wails as nothing more than background noise.
I hadn’t expected to see the trending topic on Twitter when I woke up the next morning.
“Shocking News: Hunt Corporation’s Female CEO Assaults Man in Public!”
Someone had filmed the restaurant incident and uploaded it online, causing a sensation.
The video was cut and edited, removing the context and piecing together a version that made it look like I was the aggressor, bullying Eanes.
I couldn’t help but sneer. If I hadn’t experienced it firsthand, I might have believed it myself.
The Internet was flooded with insults, all attacking me. But the most ridiculous part? Eanes didn’t even try to clear my name. Instead, he posted a tweet.
“Thank you all for your concern. I’m not hurting as much anymore.”
That was when I realized that it was all an act orchestrated by Eanes himself. He wanted to force me into submission.
I had no idea who gave him such a ridiculous idea that public opinion could break me. However, ere was no way I would go back to him.
Rather than sitting back and taking the slander, I decided to fight back. I compiled a detailed PowerPoint presentation and posted it online.

If people wanted drama, they should at least get the truth.
I laid everything out clearly–the date, time, and place of my marriage to Eanes, followed by the evidence of his intimate behavior with Yasmine, his frequent nights away from home, and the countless times he had provoked
- me.
I included text explanations and images, leaving no room for misinterpretation.
I also obtained the restaurant’s unedited and complete sécurity footage, which I then uploaded for everyone to see. A video exposing Eanes manipulating public opinion surfaced, revealing his true nature to everyone.
After everyone knew the truth about him, some savvy bunch even uncovered that Yasmine was the kept woman of a wealthy man.
“Childhood friends? LMAO. There’s no such thing as ‘just friends‘ between men and women. That’s just an excuse to cover up something shady.”
“Eanes really thought he could play the game, huh? He ended up getting burned! And with a gold–digging side. chick, no less. LOL!”
“Anyone else remember his announcement on Twitter? Looking back, it’s actually hilarious.”
Public opinion flipped overnight, with people tearing Eanes apart. Even Lambert Group’s stock price took a hit from the backlash.
As the outrage grew, Eanes was forced to post an apology video that very night.
But no one bought it. The more pathetic he tried to act, the more annoyed people were with him.
Eanes flooded me with apology messages, but I ignored them all.
Eventually, he cornered me outside my office.
“I finally got to see you.” He sighed. “I’ve been thinking a lot these past few days… I was wrong before. Can you forgive me?”
I didn’t respond. But in my head, I was calling him a psycho
